Stay in our Sanctuary Lodge, a beautifully restored building featuring cozy rooms with nature-inspired décor, private bathrooms, and views of the Sanctuary grounds.

Your Jack Miner Experience

A typical schedule for your stay. Times and activities may vary based on season and weather.
Day 1 — Arrival at the Sanctuary
Guests arrive at the historic Jack Miner Sanctuary and settle into their accommodations before the experience begins the following morning.
Check-in: 4:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Spend the evening relaxing at the lodge and exploring the peaceful Sanctuary grounds.

Day 2 — Full-Day Guided Experience
Sunrise — Pond-Side Photography

Early risers are invited to begin the day with exclusive sunrise access to the Sanctuary’s pond-side photography blind, offering a unique opportunity to observe and photograph waterfowl and other wildlife as the Sanctuary awakens.

Morning — History & Conservation

The guided experience begins with a deeper look into the remarkable legacy of Jack Miner and the ongoing conservation work at the Sanctuary.
Morning activities include:
• Guided tour of historic Sanctuary buildings and grounds
• Archives & Legacy Session exploring Jack Miner’s conservation impact
• Workshop on the Sanctuary’s bird banding history and traditions
• Introduction to current conservation and research efforts

Late Morning — Bird Banding Experience

Guests will witness and participate in one of the Sanctuary’s most meaningful traditions.
Activities include:
• Live bird banding demonstration
• Opportunity to observe the banding process up close
• Hands-on Build Your Own Bird Band session
Each guest will create and take home their own Jack Miner goose band as a meaningful keepsake of the experience.

Midday — Lunch at the Historic Miner House
Guests will enjoy a catered lunch inside Jack Miner’s historic home, offering a relaxed break before the afternoon activities begin.
Afternoon — Carolinian Forest Birding

The experience concludes with a private birding session in the Sanctuary’s Carolinian forest habitat, including exclusive access to a 5-acre area not typically open to visitors. Guests will have the opportunity to observe a variety of native bird species while learning about the Sanctuary’s unique ecosystem.

Evening Experience
Guests will also receive a Farm-to-Table Dinner-for-Two voucher for Banded Goose Brewery & Taproom in Kingsville, allowing them to continue the experience with a locally inspired dining experience.

Guests are encouraged to pack before the morning activities begin so there is time to freshen up and prepare for departure at the end of the experience.
