Early risers are invited to begin the day with exclusive sunrise access to the Sanctuary’s pond-side photography blind, offering a unique opportunity to observe and photograph waterfowl and other wildlife as the Sanctuary awakens.
The guided experience begins with a deeper look into the remarkable legacy of Jack Miner and the ongoing conservation work at the Sanctuary.

Guests will witness and participate in one of the Sanctuary’s most meaningful traditions.

• Live bird banding demonstration
• Opportunity to observe the banding process up close
• Hands-on Build Your Own Bird Band session
Each guest will create and take home their own Jack Miner goose band as a meaningful keepsake of the experience.
The experience concludes with a private birding session in the Sanctuary’s Carolinian forest habitat, including exclusive access to a 5-acre area not typically open to visitors. Guests will have the opportunity to observe a variety of native bird species while learning about the Sanctuary’s unique ecosystem.
